Welcome to Audioneering. I am Roman Sereinig, an engineer and audio enthusiast from Linz, Austria. I help you understand acoustic problems and tackle them in a targeted way: in a room, in your sound system or in product development.

audio and engineering. with the whole picture in view.

Audioneering combines acoustics, audio engineering, sound reinforcement and vibration engineering. A problem often involves several of these areas at once. A sound system can be technically sound and still sound unsatisfying in the room. A machine can work perfectly and still make disturbing noise.

I look at how these things connect and work out the right approach with you: from the first consultation through measurement and planning to supporting the implementation. You can bring me in for a clearly defined task or for the technical support of a larger project.

Room acoustics

Rooms where people understand each other

Too much reverberation, poor speech intelligibility or an unbalanced sound: I look at how your room is used and which acoustic properties matter for that. The result is a concept for suitable measures. For offices, restaurants and bars, event and rehearsal spaces or your private listening room.

Audio engineering and sound reinforcement

The system has to suit the room and its use

I support the planning, design, commissioning and tuning of sound reinforcement systems. I look at existing systems just as much as at new concepts. The focus is on the intended use, intelligible speech and the right sound.

Noise analysis and expert reports

Assessing noise in a traceable way

When a plant, a business or a heat pump raises questions about noise, you need a sound technical basis. I help with measurements, analyses and acoustic expert reports. We tailor the scope of the investigation to the task at hand.

NVH and vibration analysis

Finding technical causes and supporting development

I support development departments and SMEs with questions about noise and vibration: measurement-based analyses, interpreting the results and working within the development project, on site if needed.

acoustics is no mystery.

Noise and sound have causes you can trace. I explain the connections as far as you need them for your decision. What was measured, what follows from it and which questions are still open always stays clear.

Level in the room

how reverberant is your room?

A first estimate in a few seconds: choose the room size and surfaces. The calculation shows roughly where your room stands. With “Hear a clap” you can hear the difference.

0,0 s

Estimate using Sabine’s formula with average absorption coefficients. Target for speech based on DIN 18041. Does not replace a measurement on site.

how we work together

  1. Clarify the goal

First we clarify what bothers you and what you want to achieve.

  2. Define the scope

I define a sensible scope for the investigation or planning.

  3. Explain clearly

You get a clear assessment with concrete next steps.

  4. Support the implementation

If you wish, I also support their implementation and verification.

insights into our work

Wels · Sound reinforcement

monkey3 club: planning and tuning the sound system

For the Monkey3 Club, I planned the sound system, implemented the level limiting and calibrated the system. My contribution thus covers both the design and the technical tuning of the system for operation.

The project video by our partner Musikuss Tonkultur gives an insight into the club and its sound system.

My contribution: planning the sound system, implementing the level limiting and calibrating the system.

What calibration means: frequency response at the listening position before calibration

Example curve. During calibration, room modes and dips are evened out until the curve lies within the tolerance band.

filharmónia bratislava: reverberation time measurement

How does sound behave in the concert hall? This project centred on measuring the reverberation time. It provides a basis for a professional assessment of the hall’s room acoustics.

Service: reverberation time measurement in the concert hall.

Measurement

Noise measurement on electric charging stations

Investigated the sound radiation to find starting points for reducing it.

Analysis

Noise analysis in a residential complex

Recording the anomalies and narrowing down the technical question.

Room acoustics

Checking room acoustics and assessing changes

Measurement, evaluation and comparison after further measures.

Development

Acoustics workshop: helping teams help themselves

Kick-off workshop and first diagnostic measurement, including order analysis.

measurement for traceable results

I choose the measurement set-up and evaluation to suit the question. What matters is that the results allow a traceable professional assessment.

what do decibels mean?

Values in dB are hard to grasp. Move the slider: 10 dB more is perceived as roughly twice as loud.

roman sereinig and the network behind him

I am Roman Sereinig. Music and technology have been part of my life for many years. I play piano and keyboards, and I enjoy good sound just as much as the technical principles behind it.

Today I bring my experience to projects in industry, room acoustics and sound reinforcement. It matters to me that you understand what I do and what it means for your project.

Room acoustics: why it affects us all

Conversations where you constantly have to ask again. An office where every phone call is overheard. A rehearsal room that is mostly just loud. What lies behind it and where sensible improvements begin.

let’s talk about your project.

Roman Sereinig on the phone.

You don’t need to be able to name the problem in technical terms. Describe what you notice, where it happens and what you want to achieve. Together we work out what kind of support makes sense.
